EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO MUSHROOM CULTIVATION FARM UNDER UCOST
Students from B.Sc Agriculture, 5th semester visited cultivation farm for mushroom and medicinal plants.Students attended guest lecture and observed cultivation practices of mushroom and medicinal plants.
Technical Poster Presentation @ Maya Institute of Technology and Management
As we say “A Picture is Worth Thousands of Words”, and to prove this statement, students from the Engineering Department of Maya College, Selaqui presented INFORMATIVE posters during the presentation held on 30th October 2018. The presentation was organized by the technical club of MITM. The Posters not only contained the descriptive information but also creativity of students. Students came up with various upcoming concepts & future technologies like “The hyper loop”, “Internet of Things”, “Foundation under pinning”, “Plastic bricks” & many more. The enthusiasm of participants was commendable throughout the event.
Swachhata Abiyaan @Maya college Campus
CSR(Corporate social responsibility) has gained unprecedented importance and has become imperative to any organization. The CSR club of MITM organized Swachhata Abiyaan activity on 27th October 2018 for spreading the message of cleanliness not only in College campus but also to our society . In this regard Faculties , staff member , students, of Maya participated in this activity and cleaned different section of college campus. Taking this initiative as a major responsibility and to spread mass awareness in order to live in a environment friendly society . Faculties , staff member and students took oath to clean surrounding to build a healthy atmosphere .
INDUSTRIAL VISIT at Shivalik Rasayan Limited
MITM organised industrial visit for different branches of B. Tech students at Shivalik Rasayan ltd. Where experts explained the students about the different chemical and machines they use in the industries for chemical production . General Manager Mr. S K Singh provided students their skilled supervisor and plant head to illustrate the different processes of manufacturing the chemicals. Students and faculty saw boilers, heat exchanger, reactors and automatic nitrogen making plant. They got knowledge about different types of valve like safety valve, non return valve, temperature and pressure gauges and fogging hydrants etc. They also explain the safety measures which a worker should follow when they were working in the industries and how they control the pollution by the industries. The basic objective is to give exposure of an industry to the students, at the same time it imparts lesson in the team spirit which is mandatory attribute for a good professional.
Glimpses of Navratras Celebrations and "Maa Vaisno Devi Yatra
The whole event was organised under the personal guidance of Dr. Tripti Juyal Semwal ( Managing Director). After nine days of Celebrations "Maa Vaisno Devi" Yatra to katra, Jammu was organised. Along with Chairman Mam Smt. Prabha Juyal, Vice-Chairman Dr. Ashish Semwal, MD Dr. Tripti Juyal Semwal and 30 members of Maya family accompanied the Yatra.
MAYA COLLEGE PARTICIPATED IN 1st DOON INTERNATIONAL DAIRY & AGRI EXPO 2018
Students from Maya College of Agriculture and Technology participated in the 1st ever DOON INTERNATIONAL DAIRY & AGRI EXPO 2018 held at Dehradun from 12th – 14th October 2018. The Expo was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Trivender Singh Rawat ji. There were many dignitaries from Uttarakhand who visited the Expo and shared their valuable experiences. The Expo was really a booster for Uttarakhand farmers as they were able to get knowledge of new trends of farming. Moreover, the expo was full of different breeds’ of cows, buffaloes, dogs etc. Students from Maya became the central attraction of the event by showing their extreme talent by making different working and non-working models based on agriculture and food technology. Maya college is a perfect example of integrated farming as the college has its own crop farm, cow-house having 15+ cows, solar plant, and Biogas plant serving the daily needs of the college. Hon’ble Chairman of Maya Group Shri M. L. Juyal, Vice Chairman Dr. Ashish Semwal and MD Dr. Tripti Juyal Semwal also visited the expo and encouraged the students for their extra-ordinary work in expo.
STUDENTS OF MAYA COLLEGE VISITED TO PANTNAGAR KISAN MELA
Students from Agriculture department of Maya Group of colleges, Dehradun visited ‘Pantnagar KISAN MELA’ which was held from 6th to 8th October 2018. The ‘Kisan Mela’ as the name says was completely dedicated to all farmers and farming technologies. One can easily find the information about the new technologies and techniques being used in the field on agriculture. The visit was really a knowledge booster for all the students as they visited different sections and attended special lecturesrelated to their field. They were able to get information about the new HYV of crops.
Fresher's Party Celebrations @ Maya
‘FRESHER'S PARTY’, Yes it was indeed a welcome party thrown by senior students to their new friends. MAYA Group of Colleges, Dehradun on Saturday 6th October, 2018 organized a party to welcome its newly joined students. That was really a gala event full of entertainment. It was mix of DANCE, SONGS, RAMP, SKITS etc. The main purpose of fresher party is not only welcoming new students but also a get-together of seniors and juniors in which they can know each other in a much better way as they will share few good years of their lives with each other.
INTERNATIONAL BIODIVERSITY CONGRESS- 2018
Students from department of Agriculture participated in International Biodiversity Congress-2018, Forest Research Institute, Dehradun from 4- 6 october. Students attended various plenary lectures on topics like 1: How to make the diverse way the easy way for health and environment by Ms. Renate Kunast, Former Minister of consumer protection, food and agriculture, Germany. 2: Poison free food and organic Agriculture 3: Biodiversity and public health, Evolving International Regime for protection of biodiversity. Students also attended model and poster presentation along with exhibition showing various traditional methods to conserve genetic diversity in different parts of India.

SURGICAL STRIKE DAY Celebrated in Maya Group of Colleges, Selaqui September 29, 2018
It was the day when complete Maya Family was feeling like a patriot in the company of Lt. Col. Gaurav Bhandari who was there to give a motivational lecture on ‘SURGICAL STRIKE DAY’. And it was a session that will remain in the minds of all for a long period of time. Lt. Col. Bhandari not only threw light on what actually Surgical Strike was but also explained Why it was needed? Many students of Maya who are from neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bhutan and other places came to know about surgical strike done by India on terrorism and they all are feeling positive about it. The complete session was very interactive in which students and faculty members of Maya colleges asked questions which were entertained by Lt. Col. Bhandari in a very positive manner and he answered each and every question with great examples. In the end Hon’ble VC of Maya Group, Dr. Ashish Semwal gave Bhandari ji a token of love from Maya Family in the form of memento.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP @ MAYA
Blood Donation is a precious gift that saves HUMAN lives and hence it is the most remarkable act of service to humanity. MAYA Group of Colleges, Dehradun today organized “Blood Donation cum Health Check-up Camp” in its campus in collaboration with Govt. Doon Medical College & Hospital, Dehradun. Students from every department took part in this event. The excitement made faculty members stands in queues for hours for this noble cause. It has been a regular tradition as we call it of Maya family to organize such social events for the benefit of society. At the end a total of 250+ units were collected from this camp. Hon’ble Chairman Shri M.L.Juyal along with VC Dr. Ashish Semwal and MD Dr. Tripti Juyal Semwal appreciated this service of students and staff members of Maya family.
Celebration of World TOURISM Day @ Maya College of Hotel Management
The theme of world tourism day 2018 Tourism and Digital transformation emphasized on technologies and advance innovations that can make tourism sector a prominent contributer of all round sustainable development. Dr Suresh Juyal principal Maya College of Hotel Management in his welcome address highlighted various models such as solar power plants, bio gas plant, organic farming being practiced at Maya College that promotes and foster sustainable development. The chief guest of the programme honourable Vice Chairman Dr. Ashish Semwal in his address to the students said that young ignited minds must use staratigies so that tourists have longer stays to achieve full tourism potential. For this we need to identify and tap new markets such as nature ,eco tourism and home stay models. For this Maya Group of Colleges will soon initiate a project at Chamoli district to create awareness among local population to make them hospitably rich and cultured. Students presented various songs ,dances and skits to make the evening more colourful and vibrant. Managing Director Dr. Tripti Juyal Semwal mam and other dignitaries graced the occasion by their valuable presence.
INTER-DEPARTMENTAL DEBATE HELD AT MAYA, DEHRADUN
That was really a battle of words!!! Department of Extra Curricular Activities from Maya College organized Inter-Departmental DEBATE on Saturday 15th September. The Topics for the debate were Social Media and Joint Family. The excitement started early when large number of students took part in this contest. Each and every student was full of facts to prove their motion. In the end, Mr. Sumit from Hotel Management department was declared winner for Social Media motion and Ms. Vanshika from Agriculture department took the trophy for the Joint Family motion. The debate overall was full of knowledge full content and facts shared by the students of Maya college.

9th HIMALAYAN DAY CELEBRATED AT MAYA
Maya celebrated the “9th Himalayan Day” by organizing a lecture by Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Singh, Ex – Vice Chancellor, HNB Garhwal University. It was really a great pleasure to have such a great personality at Maya Campus. His lecture on “Himalayan Awareness” was full of knowledge and information about climate change and its effects on flora and fauna in Himalayan region. He gave a detailed analytical study on ‘How Himalayan region is changing because of climate change and other human-oriented factors?’ This year the focus theme of the Himalayan Day was on “Himalaya & Culture”. At the end of the session Dr. H. L. Upadhyay, Advisor, Maya Group of Colleges gave Dr. Singh a memento of love from Maya Group.

SEMINAR ON CAREER AFTER ENGINEERING CONDUCTED AT MAYA COLLEGE
Maya institute of Technology and Management organised a seminar on “Career after Engineering”. The speaker was CA Mr. Amit Goyal (Co founder of CL Dehradun).
The speaker Mr. Amit Goyal explained the students about Decision making of ‘How to Choose right career?’ so that they can reach at good positions after 5 years from now. Students really got motivated during the seminar.
INTER-DEPARTMENTAL QUIZ CONTEST THE InQUIZitive HELD IN MAYA College
The InQUIZitive, Inter-Departmental quiz contest was organized today by the Department of Extra Curricular Activities (DECA). The Quiz really was mix of knowledge and fun together at one place. The seminar hall was full with audience cheering for their respective teams. The Directors, Deans, HODs and all faculty members were there to motivate the students. In the end of the quiz, Department of CBZ and PCM came out to be as winner defeating their close runners-up, the department of Agriculture sciences. All the winners were awarded with the trophies and certificates.
SEMINAR ON FIRE SAFETY AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT HELD AT MAYA CAMPUS, SELAQUI
Maya College of Disaster & Conflict Management yesterday organized a seminar on FIRE SAFETY in order to help students to identify and eliminate potential fire hazards in their surroundings and respond properly and correctly in case of any disaster related to fire. During the session students were given information about the types of Fire accidents and then the correct method of using Fire Extinguisher in case of any emergency
